Hana

Major: Physics
Research areas: Dark Matter Particle Physics, Non-Equilibrium Statistical Mechanics and Population Dynamics
Extracurricular Activities:
Vice President of the Society of Physics Students (SPS). The Engagement Chair for the College of Science Student Ambassador Team. The Public Relations Person for Ladies of Robeson.

Meghan

Major: Experimental Neuroscience and Psychology (graduated May 2020)
Research areas: Neuroscience focusing on stress paradigm to target biological markers for depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders
Extracurricular Activities: A Hokie Ambassador, the Events Coordinator in VT's called Students Helping Honduras Chapter, the Social Chair in my a cappella group Soulstice, in Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, and an active member in Latin Link, a cultural community club at VT.
Fun Fact: I will be going for my masters in International Health at Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in the fall!
 

Shelly

Major: Geosciences (Graduated Spring 2020)
Research areas: Biogeochemistry, Mineralogy, and Environmental Science and for grad school I will be getting into Glaciology and Climate Science
Extracurricular Activities:
MAOP alumna (Clare Boothe Luce Undergraduate Research Award and Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Program), student ambassador for the College of Science, orientation leader for inbound international exchange students, member of the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma, Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, Geology Club, Sigma Gamma Epsilon National Earth Science Honor Fraternity
Fun Fact: I’m moving to Switzerland in September to begin my master’s at ETH Zurich! (pandemic permitting)
